Description

World’s Finest Comics #11, Fall 1943. DC Comics. This is a wonderful WWII theme cover! These books are becoming harder to find in collectible condition.  The book is in Good / Very Good 3.0.but shows in much higher grade.

This issue features cover-art by Jack Burnley. Interior story art includes: a “Superman” story with art by Ira Yarbrough and George Roussos, a “Star Spangled Kid and Stripesy” story with art by Hal Sherman, “Boy Commandos” story by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, “Green Arrow” story with art by Cliff Young, a “Batman” story with art by Jerry Robinson, and others! Also, in-house advertisements for other comics on sale at the time include ads for ALL-AMERICAN COMICS #52, SENSATION COMICS #21, FLASH COMICS #45, DETECTIVE COMICS #79, ADVENTURE COMICS #87, ACTION COMICS #64, MORE FUN COMICS, STAR SPANGLED COMICS, and others.

OVERALL BOOK CONDITION: Good / Very Good 3.0. The book is clean, flat, tight, and complete.  No missing pages. The cover is attached but is 1 inch separated from the square-bound top. Also it is beginning to separate from the square-bound spine at the middle.  Transparent tape on the inside back cover, top of the spine. Overall condition consistent with grade. Aside from my over 30 years experience with collecting, grading and selling comic books, this book is strictly graded using THE OFFICIAL OVERSTREET COMIC BOOK GRADING GUIDE (Good / Very Good 3.0 on Page 268) by Robert M. Overstreet and Arnold T. Blumberg, As well as THE OVERSTREET COMIC BOOK PRICE GUIDE – 40TH EDITION, by Robert Overstreet.

FRONT COVER CONDITION: Upper left spine has 1 inch cover separation from square bound spine. Does not impact interior pages. Heavy cardboard-like cover-stock shows some wrinkles but book is flat. Main defect on the cover is a ¼ inch white spot on image of the fourth cabbage from the bottom; previous owner taking book out of myler and tape caught the cover. It does not go through the cover.

BACK COVER CONDITION – Aside from same heavy cardboard-like cover-stock wrinkles across the back cover the back cover is flat, whole with no missing pieces.

COMMENTS – This book has been stored flat in milar for over twenty years in a private collection. On display this book views in better-than-graded condition. Take advantage of this marquee book non-CGC graded or “slabbed.” GCG-graded books demand a higher price tag. Check eBay and other dealer/auction sites and compare this copy with others for sale.  All scans are at 300dpi resolution.
