Description

I’m continuing to sell some comics from my collection. I've a very large batch of Thor series (I have ALL of these to list as time allows).  These comics span a wide timescale from the Silver, Bronze and Modern Age. Theses first ones are from the Silver Age and these ones tend to be low/lower to mid grade copies (see below for more detail of each individual comic). They are complete with no cut outs and will make a great addition to your collection. Please also see the photo/scan, to help judge the condition for yourself. I've had these comics for quite a few years. But I’m trying to thin down my collection to create a little more space.

This Auction is auction is for: Thor 126 - 1st issue in the Thor series. Thor v Hercules (continues from Journey Into Mystery 125) with Tales of Asgard back-up story. Classic Kirby art and Stan Lee story line.

About Grading

Grading can be so subjective (I just have to look at the range of grades given to the various comics that I’ve bought off ebay) but I’ve given an estimate grade which I hope will be helpful. Please look at the scans/pictures to help judge the condition/grade for yourself. Please do ask questions and I'll help if I can.

Estimate grade I'd say around FINE/VERY FINE(7.0). A nice comic that looks bright and attractive (please see scans and pictures and judge the grade for yourself)

Here is how Overstreet sees FINE/VERY FINE (7.0)

7.0 FINE/VERY FINE (FN/VF): An above-average copy that shows minor wear but is still relatively flat and clean with outstanding eye appeal. A small accumulation of minor bindery/printing defects is allowed. Minor cover wear beginning to show, with interior yellowing or tanning allowed, possibly including minor creases. Corners may be blunted or abraded. Inks are generally bright with a moderate reduction in reflectivity. Stamped or inked arrival dates may be present. No obvious soiling, staining or other discoloration except for minor foxing. The slightest spine roll may be present, as well as a possible moderate color break. Staples may show some discoloration. Slight staple tears and a slight accumulation of light stress lines may be present. Slight rust migration. In rare cases, a comic was not stapled at the bindery and therefore has a missing staple; this is not considered a defect. Any staple can be replaced on books up to Fine, but only vintage staples can be used on books from Very Fine to Near Mint. Mint books must have original staples. Paper is (no worse than) tan to cream, but not brown. No hint of acidity in the odor of the newsprint. Centerfold is mostly secure. Minor interior tears at the margin may be present.

This comic : -

  • Firstly this comic is complete with no cut outs and is clean inside and the stories are easily readable. IT IS A VERY SOLID COMIC.
  • There is a little bit of spine, edge and general wear.
  • The front cover and the comic lies  flat and is a bright and attractive issue.
  • The inside is quite clean flat.
