In 2000, DC Comics Inc., publishers of the new monthly The Spirit series, embarked on an ambitious program to reprint for the very first time, the complete Spirit series — from 1940-1952 — in archival, hardcover editions. Released as Will Eisner's The Spirit Archives, the series also features introductions from eminent comic creators and critics. The archives are now complete and run for 26 volumes. It also features The Spirit daily newspaper strips and any Spirit material published since the initial 1940-1952 run.

Offered here are the first 19 Volumes complete and in mint condition. The seller wishes to emphasize the incredible care he takes involving his book collection. He handles every book with kid gloves, the collection is enclosed in 4-ply Mylar bags insuring they are virtually like new. Unfortunately for him, he is in the process of moving and must clean out his massive collection of books accumulated over the past 50 years.

Each book in this series was published at $49.95 (a total of nearly $500.00!) so this is a great opportunity to start your collection with a winning bid! As an added bonus, the first two volumes in this series have been signed by Will Eisner in a LIMITED EDITION publication of only 500 copies each! Book #1 is 101 of 500 and book #2 is 79 of 500.

The Archive series is presented in full color and showcase the art and ingenious lettering style of one of the greatest comic legends in history. He passed away on January 3rd in 2005.

William Erwin "Will" Eisner (/?a?zn?r/; March 6, 1917 – January 3, 2005) was an American cartoonist, writer, and entrepreneur. He was one of the earliest cartoonists to work in the American comic book industry, and his series The Spirit (1940–1952) was noted for its experiments in content and form. In 1978, he popularized the term "graphic novel" with the publication of his book A Contract with God. He was an early contributor to formal comics studies with his book Comics and Sequential Art (1985). The Eisner Award was named in his honor, and is given to recognize achievements each year in the comics medium; he was one of the three inaugural inductees to the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame.

I ship Tuesday, Wed, Thursday, Friday and sometimes on Saturday.  Rarely do I ship on Monday.  I try to send out every item within 48hrs of payment, most within 24hrs.  Larger items sometimes take a bit longer.
