The Spirit Comic Book Newspaper Insert Type Mutual Benefit Society Balt Md 1940s

Description

Will Eisner's THE SPIRIT comic books. 3 different issues from the 1940s. These appear to have been giveaways from the Mutual Benefit Society. 407 W. Franklin St. Baltimore 1, Maryland. They have that address printed at the top of front cover but no other details are given. There is no publisher or publishing dates listed,  no copyright, or author or artist info. The Spirit was created by Will Eisner but his name is shown only once on the front cover on one comic. These books are like the comic books that were inserted in weekly newspapers across the country in the 1940s except for the lack of information. There are 3 different issues. Each one has a Spirit story, a Lady Luck story by Klaus Nordling, an Intellectul Amos story and a Jonesy strip by Dib on the back cover. All issues have age browning of varying degrees,  some soil and wear overall, small edge and corner chips, small edge cuts that look to be from the printing process. They don't appear to have been read. They look like they were stacked in a pile in storage for many years. That's the way I bought them. I would say they are very good condition. Satisfaction is guaranteed. $4.50 shipping. Packed between stiff cardboard for safety in transit. Any questions or comments please contact me. Please scroll down to see all pictures.
