With the debut of the entire Iron-Man mythos, including the cover-story introducing the captivating hero that has earned the honor of being one of the more accurately-portrayed on the 'big screen' thanks to excellent performances by Robert Downey, Jr., it's one of the early times that Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and Don Heck and Steve Ditko would work together, a halcyon formula which laid the foundation for countless other heroes to follow, really cementing Lee, Ditko, and Kirby as the most fertile creative team in the entire medium.  When you consider this comic came out at the start of the sixties and is a scarcer issue, marking the transition of this long-running series from the 'pre-hero' era of supernatural and sci-fi stories to one filled with costumed heroes fighting bad guys and super-villains, ushering in the revered "Marvel age of comics" and a renaissance of the superhero genre, it becomes clear that this hot book is overdue for significant price escalations, particularly since Iron Man has become one of the hottest superheroes on the planet.
