One late evening we received a phone call from a retired gentleman residing in Portland, Oregon. The information he was able to provide was limited, but we liked what we heard so we booked our flights and prepared to head West. From what we could gather, it seemed that a collection of approximately 800 high grade silver age comics including some #1s existed in Portland. The collector did not have access to a computer or camera so we were unable to confirm anything, but in talking to this man we could tell that he was a TRUE COLLECTOR. He remembered us from back in the late 1970s and he really wanted to work with us on this, but we knew that we had to act fast or he was going to contact other dealers. Little did he know, we had already made the decision to take the chance and fly out to the west coast. We did, and the rest is history...........
