Original Vintage Illustration Art!

Robert Heinlein: Glory Road 2

Artist: Terry Oakes

Last chance on this one before it gets sent back to the artist, as part of the return of all inventory here. Each week I am choosing a few to offer at the lowest possible prices, and this is the final reduction on this piece.

This week I am offering two full-color interior illustrations that accompanied the work of Robert Heinlein's "Glory Road" published in "The Immortals of Science Fiction"....the well-known compendium book by David Wingrove, published by Pierrot, 1980.  The book commissioned artists of the day to illustrate iconic characters such as "Oscar Gordon" in Glory Road...i.e., famous books by authors such as Robert Heinlein. This major painting was seen as a double page spread pp. 43-44, and was done in gouache on Illustration board, 13.75" x 27.25" + signed.  Terry created three very large and handsome illustrations in "landscape" format for this section of the book, and this is the third one -See one other, also being offered this week.  These paintings
are an archive of historical importance as well as demonstrating the artistry of the time period - and this book is well known to fans of the genre. As an incentive, Both paintings are being offered at less than half the regular price!!

Bidding details:  I choose shipping services based on my judgment as to what would be most cost effective for items I sell on eBay. For higher priced items I suggest Fedex, but in general works will be shipped priority mail or parcel post using the USPS. Please check out www.usps.com to get an idea about overseas rates before you bid, and note there are destinations to which, I regret, I will not ship. If you feel I should make an exception for you, please contact me before bidding. If you require (or prefer) a different method, please inquire for shipping costs. Shipping by priority mail includes tracking.  Overseas shipping is by priority international or first class air unless another service is requested, and insurance is usually not available.  Please ask any questions about the items I'm offering BEFORE you bid, because the only way I can offer artworks at these low prices is to make them final sales.  Refunds will be made only if what you get is not as described.  Payment is expected within 3-5 days of auction close, by Paypal.

My eBay auctions go from Sunday eve to Sunday eve (U.S. time).   For more illustration art see the Worlds of Wonder catalog and website, and for anything else you need to know, just ask! Happy bidding!
