Description

Mighty World of Marvel 197, 198 and 199 from 1976 - UK Marvel featuring the 1st appearance of Wolverine in the UK - this is a 3 issue lot which reprints the 2nd half of Incredible Hulk (US) 180 (in MWOM 197) and then the full Incredible Hulk 181 story (spread over MWOM 198 and 199). UK Marvels were generally black & white reprints (as these are)

197 - high grade - just some spine ticks and some very light/minor signs of creasing/bending plus a newsagents name in pencil rubbed out on the back cover

198 - some light wear to the spine and a small split to the bottom, light wear/nicks to the top/bottom edges and 2 very faint vertical creases (like subscription creases but with no bend to the book) plus a tiny triangular nick near the right hand (by Hulk's elbow). The bottom staple may not be holding the cover any longer (top one definitely is!!) but I don't want to check too much in case it's holding on and I tear it!!

199 - high grade - just a faint crease to the top corner

GRADING:

I usually describe faults in detail and the scans are hi-res but please e-mail if you have any queries and, as always, I'm more than happy to provide a full refund of auction price and postage if you're at all dissatisfied. Please check my feedback for a guarantee of a fast, friendly and reliable service. Ebay and the Royal Mail do not always make transactions easy (!) but I have never found a problem (either UK or overseas) which I haven't managed to overcome.

SHIPPING:

Comics will always come bagged and well-protected with hardboard. I do NOT charge for packaging and I do not try to make money on postage - my pricing aims to reflect actual postage prices - I won't ever be far out (and, don't worry, I'm usually the one to lose out!!).

UK: I think recorded delivery is the safest shipping method for UK buyers.

* One additional copy is free (it falls under the same Royal Mail price band) and further copies will be 45p max each. This is the only method I'll ship for purchases above £10.

* For purchases under £10 though, I'm happy to ship uninsured to the UK if you're happy to take the risk on the Royal Mail !!

INTERNATIONAL: I'll continue to ship uninsured outside of the UK for smaller purchases but any sale above £15 MUST go with extra tracking & insurance - I think that's the best way of protecting both of us from damaged/lost mail. Royal Mail has recently changed its international pricing:

Insured shipping (any sale above £15 value) is extremely good value (reflected in my shipping costs) and costs for multiple copies has recently been reduced by Royal Mail !!

* For Europe insured (tracked & signed) is £8.45 for one comic but just £8.80 for 2-4 copies!

* For N.America & rest of world, it's £9.50 for one comic and £10.85 for 2-4 copies.

Standard/Uninsured shipping (any sale below £15): Royal Mail have also reduced the cost of shipping multiple copies via standard (uninsured) shipping.

* One comic to Europe is £4.00 but 2-4 copies are £4.60.

* For N.America one copy is £5.00 but 2-4 copies are £6.80. I charge 'rest of the world' (usually Australia!) at the N.American rates even though they are actually a little more expensive :)

It's great that so many buyers pay immediately (and many thanks for that!!) but please choose recorded/insured delivery if your winning bid is above the thresholds I've given in my shipping terms.

If you choose the uninsured shipping option, it should be on the basis that you're OK to take the risk on damaged/lost mail. For my part, I promise that I'll pack securely and I will keep proof of postage in case you need it but, with no tracking or insurance, I won't be able to help much in case of a shipping issue. It's rare to have problems with the mail but I really urge you to take the insured route - the cost is so cheap from the UK to overseas (far cheaper than the other way round for some reason!!). Any uninsured shipping option will therefore only be at your own risk - hopefully you'll see this as reasonable for both of us.

US BUYERS PLEASE NOTE: as you probably know, eBay now collects a new on-line sales tax for purchases from certain US states. This is done automatically by eBay and I have no option to bypass it so, although I don't know which states have asked eBay to collect this tax for them, hopefully you will do and will bid accordingly!!

I aim to send out on a next day (sometimes same day!) basis after cleared payment and almost always manage to hit this target.

I've enjoyed dozens of successful transactions with overseas buyers so please bid with confidence and enjoy the favourable exchange rate!!

I've got plenty other Silver and Bronze Age Marvels (US and UK) for auction - please have a quick look at them.

No reserve, happy bidding
