Marvel Comics Tales of Suspense #39 CGC 3.5 OW Pages Restored (Slight C-1)



You are bidding on Marvel Comics Tales of Suspense #39 comic book. One of comics HOLY GRAIL as it is the Origin and 1st appearance of Iron Man (Tony Stark). The comic is CGC Graded 3.5 Restored (Slight C-1) with Off-White pages; CGC Certification Number is 1339794001. Restoration includes: small amount of color touch on cover, small amount of glue on spine of cover & centerfold.

I purchased this book back in the late 80s and had no idea there was any restoration when I purchased it. I sumbitted it to CGC at the 2015 Philalphia Comic Con and was very surprised when it came back not only graded at as 3.5 (thought it might be 4.5/5.0) but also that it was slight C-1 restored?!?!

I definitely think it presents better than the grade - great color on the cover, great corners (except back bottom left), almost no marvel chipping. The only color touch is black pen to fill in some spots of the line along the spine; and I have no idea why anyone would have put any glue on the spine or centerfold ... I had this book for almost 20 years before submitting and both staples are firmly in place.

Compare this book to other restored books that have sold or are being sold on eBay ... those usually have trimming or pieces added or tape or spine splits sealed or cover reinforced. This one does not have any of that! It is also not graded "Apparent" as almost all other restored books are ... this is a true 3.5 grade from CGC. And with just some black pen line and glue on spine/centerfold, it may be possible to have this submitted for restoration removal.
