This item is the original painted artwork by Al Jaffee of the very first Star Wars themed Mad Magazine Fold-In; the folded image features C-3PO and R2-D2.
This Fold-In was published in Mad Magazine #199 (June 1978)

Art board: 48cm x 60cm (~ 19" x 24")
Art board visible through mat: 42.5cm x 54cm (~ 17" x 21")
Painting visible through mat: 42.5cm x 34cm
Signed by the artist in bottom right corner.
The artwork was verified as authentic and sold at Sotheby's, New York, Lot 131 (5 June 1998), Comic Books, Comic Art & Mad Sterpieces, Sale No.7145-Ma, and the mat still has the Sotheby's sticker present.
