St. Mark’s Comics, a fixture in NYC, was the oldest & longest standing comic store in New York City. It survived 4 decades and 36 years total, through thick and thin and over again.  This historic landmark, with practically every inch of the space covered in comics, toys and specialty items was filled with personality and old New York spice! This made it specially enticing and unique. People would travel from all parts of the world to check out this Lower East Side mainstay. St. Marks comics is responsible for sustaining the NYC comic scene during its doldrums and fostering Millions of meaningful memories and moments for fans and collectors.  What we are offering in this auction is special, these are the physical remnants of the famous institution. This is the complete store inventory of the store that survived such tragedies & adversities such as 9/11, gangs, crime, NYC construction, but ultimately succumbing to the cost prohibitive business climate fostered during mayor De Blasio’s reign.

Here is a general breakdown of the collection. We will go into heavier detail with a paragraph (or more) dedicated to each part of the collection:

- Over 12,000 Brand new Graphic novels and Trade paperbacks, softcover and hardcover
- Over 30,000 back issues of comics/magazines from Golden age to present, in various conditions
- Over 1,200 sealed action figures and hundreds of loose toys, statues and busts
- Over 1,000 of licensed merchandise like T-shirts, Jewelry, Glassware

The TPB and graphic novels are highlights of the collection:
 
- The Cover price alone on these is over $300,000
- Brand New and scannable UPCs for easy listing

The Back issue section is comprised of 5 parts:
 
1.  17 short boxes of their “wall books” which are alphabetized, individually priced books from golden age to present. This includes items like Fantastic four 48 all the way to deadpool variants from a year ago and wolverine limited series 1-4. Average price tag on these books at St. Mark’s comics is $25. St. Marks price on these books is $125,000!
2.  A-Z back issue store stock. Approx. 15 total, going back to Bronze Age. St. Marks prices add up to approx. 14k
3.  Magazines: Approx. 10 magazine boxes. These are comprised of vintage, High Grade Horror and Mad Magazines. Average price tag of $40 each. Listed price per book adds up to $24,000
4.  Independent/Underground comics Collection. St. Mark’s comics was known worldwide as having the largest available inventory of Underground comics. From Zap to Air Pirates comics, we have 13 short boxes packed with these individually priced rare & esoteric back issues. Average priced book is $20 each for a total of $31,000 priced comics.
5.  “40 decades of Basement”: This is roughly 40 long boxes worth of comics. Some of the box tops had an inch of dust on them and haven’t been opened since Ed Koch was buying comics. To just open one short box is an amalgam of history - a pile of Giant size 1975 marvel comics, followed by a run of x-force, followed by 1950’s war comics, followed by a pile of marvel and dc bronze. All not bagged and boarded. This is what you will find in these boxes. We haven’t cherry picked or allowed anyone to look at these boxes. So there WILL be surprises. Total Price? Between $10,000 and $50,000.

Action Figures, Toys and Statues

2000 pieces total, There are over 1,000 sealed action figures priced anywhere between $10 and 250. Kotobukiya, Bowen, DC Direct, Marvel Legends, toy biz, Kenner Star Wars, Mcfarlane, Funko etc. Total MSRP is over $30,000

Licensed Merchandise

Thousands (1000+) of various items that include Marvel Glassware, Jewelry, T-Shirts, posters and more. MSRP over $15,000.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. The great culling of comic stores that took place in the early part of the century is long complete. Those stores who made it through the culling either had something very special (as in the case of St. Marks) or changed from comics to cards/gaming.   For USA orders UNDER $50, we may ship USPS (1st class, media or priority) with insurance and delivery confirmation. For USA orders UNDER $400, we may ship Priority Mail with insurance and delivery confirmation, USPS 1st Class with tracking or UPS/Fedex with tracking. For USA orders of $400 to $1000, we typically ship UPS Ground with insurance and delivery/signature confirmation (Please note that for all orders of over $400 we will require a street address, no P.O. Boxes will be able to be used unless discussed prior). For USA orders OVER $1,000, we ship FedEx or UPS Ground with insurance and delivery/signature confirmation. For higher value packages of $5000 and up we ship FedEx Ground or 2-day express with insurance and delivery/signature confirmation. And finally, for the really expensive packages, we ship FedEx overnight express with insurance and delivery/signature confirmation.

  Large orders, collections or lots may ship Freight. There will be no lift gate unless requested and paid for by the recipient.

  We ship all items through EBAY GLOBAL SHIPPING. Please use the shipping calculator in the auction or contact ebay for any questions. We have no control over ebay’s shipping process. IF you do not want to go through Ebay Global Shipping, you will have to pay via bank wire or Paypal Friends and Family as we will not be covered by seller protection.

  Multiple wins will be combined for shipment, but given size and weight of items at times this DOES NOT result in a reduction of the stated per handling/shipping charge. The stated shipping and handling charge is usually less than postage (let alone supplies, insurance, handling,. Etc.. )To be safe, assume that the shipping & handling charge will be applied PER AUCTION, and factor the stated cost into your bidding.

  Multiple wins with free shipping will combined and sent to a single address. Multiple wins which are a mix of Free Shipping and Stated Shipping cost will be charged each stated shipping costs.
