Description

Presented for your viewing and bidding pleasure is this set of Golden Age comics.  These are not your average comic books as these are full adventures that were featured as a supplement to local Sunday newspapers.  These were 16 page mini adventures that featured a well known Golden Age character; The Spirit.  What makes this lot more unusual is that this sale is for FOUR consecutive issues from 1942.  These books were featured in the Philadelphia Record and the issues are; February 22, 1942, March 1, 1942, March 8, 1942 & March 15, 1942.  All issues are beginning to show their age as all pages should be handled carefully as they are slightly brittle but all are clean, clear, attached and very readable.  The March 1 issue has chipping along the upper edge but nothing too serious as to affect the overall appeal of this great collectible.  The Spirit was drawn and written by Will Eisner.  Please note that, unlike conventional comic books, these DO NOT have the glossy front and back covers but they do feature the great artwork and dialog that one would expect from comics of this era.  Surprisingly, there is NO RESERVE and a RIDICULOUSLY LOW opening bid.  Buyer pays $4.50 shipping (US).  Thanx for viewing and Good Luck.
