Description

A ... copy of Fantastic Four #52 from 1966 featuring the 1st appearance of the Black Panther

The front and back covers are showing signs of wear with creases and fine cracks along the spine with some slight pulling of the cover around the upper staple and rounding of the corners – see scans for details.

The front cover is flat, clean, not faded and mostly blemish free. The rear cover is blemish free and white

Inside, the comic itself is complete and all intact with pages in off-white / slightly tanned condition.

The Comic is bagged & boarded in a Mylite Archival Bag and PH-neutral backing board.

Photographs & scans are the actual comics and happy to add more on request up to a maximum of 12 photos.

Comics Grading

As CGC themselves say “grading is *NOT* an exact science and remains subjective.” i.e. everyone has an opinion about grades and those opinions can differ quite significantly.

I use the old fashioned Letter Grading Scale (what Overstreet now calls the Basic Grading Scale) where a grade is defined as "somewhere around this condition" and based on "an accumulation of faults".

Consequently any grades and notes about the condition of the comic are for guidance only and based on my intereptation of what I see from a quick examination of the comic.

I'm not going to claim to be stricter than anyone else nor is the grade the result of a detailed analysis that I've spent hours preparing for each individual comic.

Hopefully the photograps and high-resolution scans (where I've used them) will show any major faults and be sufficient to see that it is "somewhere around this condition".

However, if you have a specific question about the condition or description then please ask and I'll post an answer.

Best Offers

When I was a dedicated accumulator of comics (as opposed to just a reader of random graphic novels) I always thought it worth asking for a discount if I thought I could get one and any asking price is just a "desirable target".

If you want the comics then decide how much they are worth to you and, if it is less than what I've asked for, make an offer.

I'm pretty easy going and quite flexible and will accept any reasonable offer - the only ones I reject outright are those I think are taking the p*ss.

However, I'm not giving stuff away and expect a reasonable return for the time & effort involved in scanning, describing, packaging and mailing things. Otherwise why would I do it?

Consequently I'm more likely to accept large discounts where multiple items are involved simply because it saves me time by bundling things together.

Postage & Packing

I generally use Royal Mail Second Class so postage is calculated based on weight - a normal comic weighs about 50g or 80g with a backing board so a Medium Parcel can contain up to 30 comics for the same postage cost as 10 comics.

Also please bear in mind that both EBay & PayPal pile their charges on top of whatever the courier charges - this is nearly 15% of the postage cost and a fixed cost.

However I’m happy to combine Postage & Packing for multiple purchases where Postage has been listed and it's easy for me to do. If you have multiple purchases then please wait until I invoice. It's easier to adjust postage before payment than afterwards plus EBay & PayPal will have already charged their fees once you've paid.

Due to work commitments and limited access to a parcel drop-off point I can't always mail things during the week and sometimes have to wait until the weekend following payment.

Plus, of course, if you want to come and collect them from me in Northampton or nominate a courier of your choice then I'd be happy with that.

Just let me know in advance and I'll adjust the postage accordingly.

The postage cost also does not include postal insurance - Royal Mail provides up to £20 cover which is sufficient for most things. If you want to cover yourself for loss or damage beyond the amount then please let me know before you payand I'll find out the cost and adjust the postage amount accordingly.
