Will Eisner's "The Spirit" is probably the most fully developed character of the golden age both artistically and story wise. Offered here is one of the earliest appearance of "The Spirit". The Philadelphia Record before the June 2, 1940 opening story placed full page ads announcing the strip's premiere. The ad is full page larger than any other form of the actual comic, suitable for framing as they say.
The other two items are Philadelphia Bulletin "Fun Book" in a tabloid format the best way to read "The Spirit". The stories are Eisner at his best witty and spicy. The best one has one of has one the Spirit's sexy villains
Condition: The full page ad (apox. 11x19) is very nice condition, the tabs are average condition. The paper is very supple but there is some edge tearing.
