Detective Comics #29 (DC, 1939) CGC Apparent GD- 1.8 Slight (C-1) Cream to off-white pages. This early issue features the second ever Batman cover, just two issues away from the Caped Crusader's debut in issue #27. It marks the first appearance of Dr. Death, and features part one of a two-part story. Bob Kane did the beautifully composed cover and some interior art for the issue; Joe Shuster did art on the Slam Bradley story. While there may be better copies of this elusive issue out there, they certainly don't come our way very often; in fact, this is only the 15th complete copy Heritage has offered in as many years of auctioning comics. Currently this issue is #14 on Overstreet's list of Top 100 Golden Age Comics, and the cover is one of the top 10 of the entire Golden Age according to a recent Heritage/CGC collectors' poll. Includes a Colonel Collection COA. CGC notes, "Restoration includes: tear seals to interior, spine splits sealed to cover. (3 extra staples added after manufact uring. Tape on interior cover & centerfold.)". Overstreet 2016 GD 2.0 value = $11,000. From the Colonel Collection.

shipped in a commercially reasonable time after payment in good funds for the merchandise and the
shipping fees is received or credit extended, except when third-party shipment occurs. Buyer agrees
that Service and Handling charges related to shipping items which are not pre-paid may be charged
