Up for Auction, is my very own comic book collection (Nearly 2,000 books with an approximate value of $35,000), primarily purchased between 1983-1987. Most of the books were purchased at Flatbush Comics in Brooklyn, N.Y. when I was a boy. There are a small handful that were purchased in 1995 when I worked at a comic shop in Brick, New Jersey. The books have been stored for many years, carefully with bags and boards and have been re-bagged/boarded just this week. I began my collection at 8 years old, with the idea of them being a financial investment. I would buy the books every week and put them away without reading them, so the majority of books that were published between 1983-1987 are in very good shape. I was fortunate enough to get the first crack at looking at the "dollar section" whenever these books popped up. The "dollar section" were books that were published either in the 60's or 70's that had some wear to them, but consisted of strong titles and/or key issues. Those books may or not not be in perfect shape, but if it was a valued book, I'd buy it. I will be posting individual listings for my "higher-end" books at a later date, but for now I hope someone enjoys and appreciates what I have to offer you.
I am providing a full list of my books and their approximate conditions, since that is a very subjective term amongst collectors. Please email me for the PDF file, its too long to put on this page. I am also happy to provide photos of any particular book that you would like to see, in fact I encourage it. I want the prospective buyer to feel good about the quality of my books before they make a financial commitment such as this.
I am currently engaged to be married, so I am eager to off-set the incurring expenses by unloading my books. Please make (reasonable) offers and serious inquiries only. I will be selling these books as a lot only! No individual books or smaller lots, unless you overwhelm me with an offer. I will not be shipping out of the country, unfortunately. Shipping costs will be an additional charge, the books will be shipped Fed-ex express with insurance included and recipient signature required. I will only sell through Pay-Pal, and I will under no circumstances send anything out without receipt of full payment first. This is in order to protect myself from unscrupulous people, which unfortunately exist on Ebay. Local pick up is preferred (Los Angeles).
