CA 105-September, 1968-In the Name of Batroc!" – (20-page story) – Captain America is invited by a television crew to go over some old footage of his battles during WWII so that he can narrate a television special about his exploits during the war. However, as he watches the old footage of he and Bucky in action, Cap becomes filled with grief over the death of his sidekick. Comparing this to his love of Sharon Carter, he fears that her life of danger may also lead to her death as well. Walking out of the meeting without committing to anything, Cap loses himself in thought over what to do with Sharon Carter, and decides that with his life of danger he should keep her out of it.

While elsewhere, Batroc the Leaper is hatching another criminal plot and has hired on the Swordsman and Living Laser to aid him on his mission. Batroc tells them they’re seeking out a weapon that a foreign power has offered to pay them a million dollars to recover. The weapon is a seismo-bomb, a device that the military are now briefing Captain America on. …

• "Captured in Vietnam!" – Steve cannot get over Sharon, no matter how hard he tries. In order to divert himself, he takes on a mission to save a doctor in Vietnam whose kidnapping is being used as a piece in a chess game to keep the two opposing sides at war.

• "Who Calls Me Traitor?" – After a mission against AIM goes awry, it becomes apparent that S.H.I.E.L.D has a traitor within its ranks. Captain America comes under immediate suspicion due to his uncharacteristic behavior and distance after his break-up with Sharon Carter.

"The Unholy Alliance"

Captain America finds the Falcon and brings him back to the S.H.I.E.L.D helicarrier. Once on board, the Falcon's mixed alliances make him bring the Grey Gargoyle on board. Once on board it is a race to stop the Gargoyle before he can acquire Element X.
