Description

Set of 2: Captain America #117, #118Marvel Comics | September 1969 | First Printing
Writer: Stan LeeArtist: Gene ColanIssue Note: First and second appearances of the Falcon. The Red Skull is the featured villain.
#117 Condition: Very Good • The book is complete, has excellent color and a very minimal amount of age tanning for a book this age. The back cover and inside cover are white and the interior pages are very clean and light off white. Most of the stress on the book consists of creases on the top side of the cover near the spine and a very small ? inch taret coming off the top of the spine. Besides those flaws there is some edge wear. All of these flaws should be visible in the scans provided. The cover has a really nice appearance and a nice gloss.
#118 Condition: Fine- • Overall a nice copy with enough minor flaws to bring the grade down to a low-midgrade. The book is complete with good integrity and the cover has excellent color and a good gloss. There is some stress showing near the spine of the cover. The cover shows some tanning along the edges which is visible on the back and inside covers. The internal pages are in excellent condition with a minimal amount of age tanning and excellent color.

About Our Grading: My client, Bruce Ayres, has been grading comics since 1975 and he is a CGC member. I, myself am a very conservative grader especially with higher grade copies. It is rare that I grade a comic greater than a Near Mint, and even if a comic is obviously exceptional I feel very uncomfortable grading higher than Near Mint+ because when we get down to such minute details it's too easy to miss something that another grader might call a flaw. Which isn't to say that I never miss a defect when grading, but it is rare and I am easy to work with when I do. These are not slabbed copies, but check our feedback rating, you can feel confident that they're graded just as strictly and will be shipped to you well protected.
Because most of the items I sell are collectibles I pack your order so it will be protected and will arrive to you in the condition it was listed as. For books I ship either in a box with packing paper for protection or in a heavy-duty cardboard mailer. Regardless of which method I use I provide internal protection inside to keep the book from rubbing or bumping corners. All comics are bagged and boarded. Other products may be packaged differently but all are packed to be secure and protected. I'm frustrated myself when I buy a collectible that arrives with damages due to inappropriate packing, which sadly occurs more often than I would hope for. So I take great pride in being reliable in my packing.
I'm selling these on behalf of Capital City Comics in Madison, Wisconsin which is a reputable dealer of collectible comics since 1975. Bruce has a reputation for carrying quality product and knowing his trade and as you can see by the approval rating that I have, I do right by my customers so bid with confidence!
