Batman #608 RRP Retailer Variant Edition CGC 9.8
This book is the holy grail for Jim Lee collectors. Not only is it the first issue of Batman that he drew but the beginning of a 12 issue historic run that brought DC COMICS back to the top of the charts pushing his popularity to new heights.
This variant edition was part of a very small print run. While not as small as 200 as some have suggested on eBay it is closer to 500. ( Keep in mind how small 500 copies of a comic book featuring Batman with an all new cover by Jim Lee is.) This edition was produced as a thank you and given away free to comic book retailers who were part of the DC COMICS RRP Program. Each retailer was given 1 copy at the meeting. Within days it was selling for hundreds on eBay.
Flash forward to the present day and a quick look at the CGC census shows us that 278 copies have been graded thus far with only 44 reaching the high end 9.8 certification (17 are graded at 9.8 signature series certified and 1 more at an unqualified 9.8). No copies have graded higher.
This specific copy of Batman #608 RRP Edition is in mint condition. No scratches or cracks on the case and has been stored carefully since the day it returned from CGC. It will be shipped in a carefully packed box to ensure it is delivered in the same condition.
