Batman #23 (Jun-Jul 1944, DC) Well WornJoker Cover "The Upside Down Crimes!" Batman in "Damsel in Distress!" The Adventures of Alfred "Borrowed Butler"
The front cover is well worn with multiple creases across it and at the edges, light wear across the top edge with small creases with color loss, a 1 1/2" crease across the top right corner, wear on the corner, moderate wear down the right side with creases, tiny splits and narrow small missing pieces, multiple creases across the bottom right corner up to 4", the bottom right corner is folded under with no missing piece, light creases across the bottom edge, two vertical reader's creases from top to bottom at the center with color loss, a pencil notation at the top left, both staples are detached from both covers, heavy wear on the spine with a 3/4" missing piece at the bottom, another at the bottom staple, and two more at the center and the top staple, a split from the center to the top staple and a 2" tear down from the top, the two cover are still attached to each other, and yes the cover is lightly tanned.  The back cover is is heavily tanned and soiled, all the same problems down the spine, no tears or missing pieces on the three exposed edges, a 2" crease across the bottom left corner.  The contents are cream to light tan, complete, the center fold is detached but present, moderate wear on the long edge, the corners are rounded.  This was obviously a favorite of the original owner and read many time!

These comics were all owned by one boy who collected them in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s.  He lived in the same home all his life and kept the comics in stacks in a storage room.  Some have sun shadows from being exposed to light across one edge, some do not.  We are trying our best to describe each one fully in the listing.  Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction.
