Description
I was an avid comic book reader/collector growing up in the 1960s and 1970s. My interests during that period were primarily in Marvel Comics which coincides with present day categorizations of the Silver and Bronze Ages of comics. I have stored this comic book collection in an air conditioned, smoke free environment for over 40 years. Being that I am now in my mid-60s, it is time to find new "homes" for these comic books. To that end, I am in the process of having select issues CGC-graded in preparation for sale.

Fleeing his battle with the Avengers, and desperate to find the Atlanteans who abandoned him, Namor finds himself atop an ice floe in the North Sea. Venting his anger at a group of eskimoes worshiping an idol entombed in ice, he hurls their idol into the ocean, never knowing the fateful act he has just performed. The Avengers, in their submarine craft, see the idol melted free of the ice and realize that it's a human being. Taking him aboard, they find to their shock that underneath his military uniform is the red, white and blue costume of World War 2 hero, Captain America! And what's more, the ice that entombed him kept him alive, in a form of suspended animation. Now, in the warmth of the Avengers' craft, he returns to life. But while the Avengers have discovered a powerful new ally, Namor is still out there, plotting the team's destruction.

Photos: You may notice a small dark square in the center of the photos. This dark square is not a defect on the surface of the comic book. I shot the photos through a hole in a poster board to minimize reflection on the surface of the slab. The dark square is the reflection of this poster board hole and my cell phone camera lens shooting through it.
