This auction is for two early silver age issues of Marvel Comics Avengers # 20 from Sept. 1965 and Avengers # 21 from Oct.1965. Cover artwork on both books is by Jack Kirby (pencils) and Wally Wood (inks), with the story artwork by Don Heck (pencils) and Wally Wood (inks). Avengers # 20 is complete and is in very good/fine condition. Flaws include a slightly rounded upper left corner at the spine, light tanning on the inside front and back cover pages, some light discoloring in the blue area of the front cover, light stress creases on the spine, and a small rust stain at the top of the bottom staple which is visible on the cover and all of the interior pages. Avengers # 22 is complete and is in very good condition. The flaws for this book include light tanning of the inside cover pages, some dark stain spots on the edge of the inside front cover page and the first story page that is also noticeable on the outside right edge of the book, general wear on the front cover, light stress creases along the spine, light stains and discoloring on the outer and inside back cover page, and extra staple punctures noticeable on the back and penetrating into the center page of the book that appears to have been an assembly flaw at the printer.
