Description

You are bidding on a lot of 6 comics: Strange Tales #176-181, published by Marvel in 1974. This includes two issues of The Golem, and then 5 issues of Jim Starlin's Warlock series. I always thought that these early Warlock issues were some of the best things published in its era.

Condition is a contentious issue in any sale, especially a sale that is not made in person. I am not a professional grader, but I am an experienced comic collector who has seen the wide variations in what people consider to be comic grades. I would like to minimize the conflicts that sometimes happen after purchase.

All of the comics in my collection were bought off the stand and bagged/boarded after one reading (occasionally more than one). They have been stored in comics boxes for the intervening years.

This comic is in what I would consider VF tending toward NM. The corners are sharp. The spines are excellent. There is a good gloss on the covers. The pages are off white. There are no folds on the front or rear cover. Interior colors are good for the comic's age.

However, this is just my opinion. That is why I have provided pictures of the issue being sold. These are not stock images; they are of the actual item itself. Please review them carefully. If you need additional photos of a particular aspect of the item, please contact me and I will provide them.

If you want a certified, consistently graded comic, it is in your interest to buy only CGC certified issues. That is why that company exists, to take your opinion and mine out of the equation. The item in this auction is NOT a CGC certified comic. Ultimately it is being sold AS IS, so you want to make a decision on how much you are willing to pay for the comic as it appears in the photos.

This auction is only open to US bidders.

There are two shipping options. In terms of shipping protection (another common point of contention) here is what you get for your $7. The comic is already bagged and boarded. I will put it in another (mag-sized) bag and board for protection. It will be attached to a stiff cardboard backer and placed in a new, not reused, padded mailer bag. PLEASE DO NOT BEND will be written on both sides of the envelope.

I am perfectly willing to box your order for greater protection. However this incurs an additional shipping cost. A boxed order sent USPS Priority Mail will cost $12.75. You will have a choice of both of these shipping options at time of checkout. Priority Mail comes with a tracking number. Please note that I don't make any money on the shipping of the item when estimated. You pay only my cost, but you do pay 100% of out of pocket shipping cost.

And don't forget: I will gladly combine shipping if you are successful in multiple auctions.

As you can probably tell, this process is the result of problems that have come up in the course of sales. I think that if the buyer is aware of where I am coming from, we can eliminate most problems before they come up. Chances are good we can work out any questions. I invite you to check out my feedback.

Please note that I typically ship on two days a week (Wed and Sat). Your parcel will be included in the next available shipping run.

Many thanks for taking a look at my auction and I hope we can do some business!
