Description

Title: SUPERMAN
Issue #:  1

Description: WOW!!!  What really needs to be said here?!?!?!  Here's your chance to own a reasonable copy of Superman #1. Don't miss out on your chance to own one of the Top-5 comic books from the Golden Age of comic books - Superman #1 - a 10 cent comic from 1939!!!

Condition: Book has not been certified as I was looking for a copy to read when I bought this book (why spend $250,000 to $1,000,000 for a comic book that you can't read????).  Anyhow, the front and back covers of the book have several pieces of scotch tape along the spine, top and bottom edges and leading edge.  The spine has tape along the entire length and is attached to the book, but not very well.  The original staples are in place, but have a bit of rust on them. As mentioned, the upper right corner of the book has undergone some amateur restoration of about 1.0 to 1.5 inches - - it is not extremely noticeable from a distance, but it is apparent once you have the book within arm's length to read it.

Other than the defects mentioned above, the interior of the book is truly very nice and would likely grade out between VG (4.0) and F (6.0), but except for the defects on the covers. Not a VF book, but also not a Good/Fair book.  Pages are off-white and are NOT brittle. This rare edition of the FIRST Superman comic looks really pretty nice and, it would be a really valuable GA book if the new owner chooses to have the amateur restoration removed and repaired by a professional.

Terms: I will accept Paypal (but for a book like this, other arrangements likely make more sense).

Shipping via USPS Priority Postage with full insurance (domestically).  International buyers - the cost of shipping will be given once I know the location of the buyer.  All shipping requires insurance and signature confirmation.

A great book to add to any serious collector's portfolio OR simply a good investment as a diversified investment!   This book has only gone up in value over the past few decades and will likely only continue to do so!  The historical price performance of Key books like this can rival any asset class you have.

Good luck bidding and be sure to ask any questions that you have. Be sure to keep watching my eBay page as there will be many other mid-to-high grade Golden Age comic books like Action Comics #13, Detective Comics #33 and #38 and MANY other DC, Marvel, Timely and others, etc.

Current guide values for this RARE book are below:

Aaahhhhhh, IF ONLY I owned a Sup 1 in 9.6 grade with a blue label!!!!  WOW!!!  Only a $6.4 million dollar comic book!!  Well, this one can be had for over $6.3 million less :o) !!
