COMIC BOOK GRADE GUARANTEED! This issue is very special to me as it is the first X-Men back issue I ever purchased. Hello, everyone and excelsior! I've been collecting comics for over 30 years. I used to work at a comic store in Manassas, Virginia and I was actually paid in...comic books! No salary. Just comic books! I was more interested in back issues, although I also collected a lot of Marvel new issues, as well. I was always an incredibly picky collector and maybe it was my OCD, but I wouldn't take a book home unless it was cherry Near Mint or better. Back then, we really only had the Overstreet price guide to go by. There was no CGC or other grading companies. You sat with rubber gloves and rubber coated tweezer tips and gently graded the book with your colleagues. By the way, my colleagues back then were the guys from Geppi's, Mile High Comics, Diamond Comics, American Comics and other pioneers of the hobby. I can remember sifting through boxes and boxes of back issues and saving my "salary" to apply it to an old X-Men or Spider-man book. Sometimes I would spend a couple of days "pay" on a single back issue. As I became an adult, I had the luxury for a while of collecting key issues. Same rules applied though...NM+ was the bar. I always planned to pass my collection down to my daughters but recently I started having serious health issues. First it was a heart attack. Then I had a heart monitor surgically implanted. Summarized, life has a way of changing your plans. I met with the owners of some reputable comic book companies recently. We discussed my collection. I was told by both owners that my collection is one of the nicest they have ever seen based on consistency of quality grade. The value of this auction is over $100,000. It isn't all of my collection but it does consist of most of my best condition and most prized comics. I turned down their offers because honestly, they wanted too much of a commission. Nice gentlemen, but we couldn't come to a number that meets my needs. So I thought about how I could make this auction EPIC and FAIR. Here it is. The books are guaranteed. I have had a few graded to demonstrate that I know what I'm doing. See Daredevil 182, 188 and 189 as a few examples. I had a few random books graded some time ago and no surprise to me, they came back NM+ (9.6s). I will tell you a few of these books are most likely 9.8s including Amazing Spider-man 129. I spent 10 years finding the perfect copy of that book and it's simply AMAZING (pun intended)! These comics have no date stamps, writing, creases, tears, bends or folds. If they did, they would NOT be NM+ and I would not have acquired them. There was no debate about the condition of the books by the independent owners. But I want to be clear: Honesty and integrity is key to living a good life. I had mostly good experiences as a buyer but got burned by a few people who simply sent different books (poorer grades) than advertised, or in one instance, didn't send them at all (he sent me printer paper)! That's wrong and karma isn't kind to people like that. So here's the deal. I am guaranteeing all books to be in the condition represented or better. You have 14 days to professionally grade them. If somehow the book comes back a lesser grade, I will either 1. refund your entire purchase price including shipping or 2. will refund the percentage difference (i.e. between a 9.6 and 9.4). I believe the likelihood of this occurring after having three professionals (including myself) grade these books is about zero percent, but I want everyone to be happy with his/her purchase. Skipping costs will be actual costs plus insurance to your location of choice. I will combine shipping to save you money, as well. I will also be happy to provide my name and contact information to assure everyone of the honesty and integrity of this auction. Note I have 100% feedback and my eBay account has been around for years.
