CBCS Graded 7.0 (Fine to Very Fine) with Off-White Pages.
One of the nicest copies you’ll be able to find of this highly sought after issue. This was the best copy that I could find, after several years of searching, until I recently upgraded to an 8.0. In all honesty, this 7.0 presents better than the 8.0, with less spine stress and none of the typical bottom right front cover corner creasing.
According to the CGC Census, just five copies have ever graded higher than 7.0, with the highest being 8.5. This copy has some very light spine stress, a tiny crease at the top right front cover corner, a small crease by the middle right front cover edge, and a few tiny/very light foxing spots on the back cover.
My 8.0 cost me over $12,000; I have started the opening bid on this copy at $7,500.
Two 6.5 copies have sold for $4,750 and $5,000 earlier this year. A CGC 7.0 sold via buy- it-now on eBay earlier in the year for $2,900 – but that copy sold within minutes of being listed and would’ve sold for several times that amount, had the seller priced it properly.
Currently ranks #28 on Overstreet’s Top Silver Age books (though it will probably be even higher in the future, given its recent surge in price).
